3D GEMOTERIC PRIMITIVES

Unwrap: Work

I started by trying different kinds of 3D shapes in 3d modeling software, and I realized that some of these shapes are hard to turn into the physical model because of too many curves or too many sides.

Eventually, I chose this 3D Geometric Shape as the final design that I will go with. I settled with this one because it is easy to make, and the shapes are all unified; it gives me a simple but clean feeling to it.

I unwrapped the model using the smart UV function Blender; then, I drew different model parts separately on my iPad. After that, I printed the net of cubes using a printer and cut each piece out, assembled these nets into cubes, and put them together using glue.

FINAL REFLECTOIN

I had to use all skills that I learned in previous projects to pull this off. Compared to the last project, this one focuses more on the creative aspect than the technical aspect, so the whole creation process is quite interesting for me. Even though I got stuck a few times on the ideation part, it trained me to think more diversely rather than focus on one way.
