DEFINE
PoV STATEMENT
Daniel is a first-year design student at UoA and wants to improve his money management skills, but he finds it challenging to make a working plan for his budget.
BRAINSTORMING

HOW MIGHT WE STATEMENT
Below are the statements that I wrote for the initial brainstorming phase. These statements give me more options on what my final product should focus on:
How might we make something that motivates college students to keep track of their monthly expenses?
How might we create a practical financial plan for college students to spend their money wisely?
How might we provide a simplistic and straightforward way for college students to keep track of their budgets?
How might we provide a convenient solution for college students to track their budgets without feeling stressed and panicked?
How might we provide a convenient way for college students to upload and record their expenses?
How might we design a website/application that provides a full range of services to help college students who don't know how to plan their budget?
Suppose we are going to design an app that provides a solution to solve college students' financial planning problems. How might we make an intuitive analysis and presentation for the users?
How might we make a budget planning tool that is convenient, simple to use, and trackable for college students?.
AEIOU FRAMEWORK

Once I had categorized my insights and observations, I used the AEIOU framework to interpret the finding I just listed in the brainstorming section. This activity allows me to explore my client's problem space more consciously.
MIND MAPPING
This is a mind map that I created that concerned with budgeting. This mind map allows me to dig in-depth into each aspect of the problem, giving me a rough idea of how I will make my prototype.

FINISHING HMW STATEMENT
Through the AEIOU and mind mapping activities, I have taken a closer look at the problem space and analyzed the observations I gathered from the previous design phase. And then, after my careful consideration, I decided to narrow down my HMW to one.
"How might we make a budget planning tool that is convenient, simple to use, and trackable for college students?. "
I chose this statement as my final statement because it has a specific user target and a clear set of goals on how we might be able to design a solution for the problem that my client and the target users encountered.
